Let the Good Times Roll! Universal Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando Resort

This year, Universal Orlando Resort is bringing back one of its most lively seasonal celebrations: Universal Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval! From February 7 through April 4, 2026, this event transforms Universal Studios Florida into a festive celebration full of delicious food and entertainment. The best part is, it’s all included with regular park admission!
If you’re planning a spring break getaway, a family vacation, or just looking for something exciting to do this year, Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando would be a great addition to your itinerary!
I attended this event last year, and it was an absolute blast! (Dare I say it even rivals a certain well-known Food & Wine festival at a nearby theme park…)
Here’s a look at my favorite parts of the event:
- Live Concerts- Enjoy music from popular artists on select nights! This year’s lineup includes Joey Fatone, The All-American Rejects (and more!) performing at the Universal Music Plaza Stage inside the park. Shows begin in the early evening and are included with regular park admission.
- Global Food & Drinks- Taste your way around the world with over 40 globally inspired food and beverage offerings set up throughout the park. My favorite: the beignets!
- Mardi Gras Parade- Each night, the parade fills the streets with high-energy performers, festive music, and plenty of chances to catch beads. Colorful floats roll by straight from the bayou, including ones inspired by classic New Orleans Mardi Gras traditions.
- Float Ride and Dine Experience- If you want to take your Mardi Gras experience to the next level, this is for you! This special package includes a three-course meal at select restaurants and a reserved spot on one of the Mardi Gras parade floats. You’ll toss beads into the crowd while riding along the parade route! Reservations are highly recommended.
Tips to Make the Most of Your Experience:
- Visit on a concert night- Plan your trip around the artist lineup so you can catch both the parade and a live concert in one night.
- Arrive hungry- Come with an appetite- there’s so much food to taste.
- Get there early- Head to the parade route and concert area ahead of time to grab a good spot and enjoy the performance.
- Check out the Mardi Gras Tribute Store- This immersive shopping experience includes themed rooms, fun photo spots, and exclusive seasonal apparel and accessories!
If you love good food, live music, and a high-energy atmosphere, Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras is a fantastic addition to a spring vacation. After experiencing it myself, I can say it brings a fun festival atmosphere right inside the park!
