A Magical Adventure at Sea: My 9-Year-Old’s Favorite Part of our Disney Wish Cruise!

The Moment She Fell in Love with the Oceaneer Club
One of the absolute highlights of our Disney Wish cruise was the Oceaneer Kids Club. My 9-year-old loved her camp from the very first moment she stepped inside. The cast members made her feel so special, like she was part of the Disney magic herself!
Every time we went to pick her up, she was busy laughing, crafting, or playing with new friends. She never wanted to leave. The activities were nonstop fun, and she was completely in her element the entire cruise.
What makes the Oceaneer Club on the Disney Wish truly unique is how immersive each space is. Kids aren’t just in a playroom, they are stepping into fully themed environments inspired by Disney stories. From the Marvel Super Hero Academy where they can train alongside their favorite heroes, to the enchanting Fairytale Hall with princess-themed activities, every room feels like its own adventure. There’s even Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, where kids can design their own roller coaster and experience what it’s like to be a Disney Imagineer.
The club also gave my daughter a sense of independence while I enjoyed some well deserved relaxation, knowing she was safe, entertained, and genuinely having the time of her life. For her, it wasn’t just a kids club, it was one of the most magical parts of the entire cruise.
Disney Magic is for Parents Too!
As a parent, I felt totally at ease leaving her there. The staff were incredible! They were caring, patient, and full of that signature Disney joy. It’s such a great feeling to know your child is safe, happy, and having the time of her life while you enjoy a little time to relax.
Another thing I really appreciated was how seamless the whole process was. From secure check in and check out procedures to the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app notifications, I always knew where she was and that she was being well cared for. The counselors truly take the time to get to know each child, which made such a difference in her comfort level and confidence.
It also gave me the chance to enjoy some grown-up experiences! Whether that was relaxing by the pool, enjoying a quiet meal, or just taking a peaceful walk around the ship, I knew she was making memories of her own. It’s such a wonderful balance that allows the whole family to have an incredible vacation.
A Dream That Lasts Beyond the Cruise
By the end of our trip, she had decided that when she grows up, she wants to be a Disney Cast Member and she’s already counting down the days until our next cruise.
Honestly, I think that’s one of the most special things about experiences like the Oceaneer Club. They don’t just entertain kids, they inspire them. She came home with new confidence, new friendships, and so many stories to share about everything she did onboard. It was amazing to see how much joy and independence she gained in just a few days.
Moments like that are what make a Disney Cruise so much more than just a vacation. They create memories that stick with your kids long after you’re back home and as a parent, there’s nothing better than seeing that kind of magic through your child’s eyes.
The Disney Wish Kids Club wasn’t just a highlight of our vacation. It was a memory we’ll treasure forever.
