12th Night Celebration: An 18th Century Christmas Story
During the 18th century, Christmas and the holiday season was celebrated a little bit differently than it is today. Santa had yet to become popular, Christmas trees were not brought inside homes, and it was more of an adult holiday than the children’s focused holiday we have today. For four years, I worked at Pottsgrove Manor in Pottstown, Pennsylvania as their Museum Assistant. 12th Night was my favorite time of year! I loved decorating the manor house in garland with candles and enjoyed giving tours to guests where I talked about the Potts families holiday celebrations and how they were very different from what we have today. Let’s travel back…

Paris during the Holidays: A City of Sparkling Lights and Snowy Dreams
“There are only two places in the world where we can live happily: at home and in Paris.” -Ernest Hemingway The Magic of Paris This happiness is no exception during the Holiday season! Paris is even a better idea during Late November and all of December. I last explored this magical city on a mother-daughter trip in December for all things festive. Parisians know how to live, how to celebrate, and how to love. That magic is in the air everywhere, but most especially during the Holidays. My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our merry time! The extra magic of Paris throughout the holidays somehow allows the centerpiece and symbol…

Wine, Dine, and Unwind: Discovering the Magic of Napa Valley
A non-negotiable for the first mommy/daddy-only trip almost a year and a half after our daughter was born was to go somewhere neither one of us had ever been before. After taking a Masterclass series hosted by James Suckling, a quick decision to go to the California dubbed “Wine Country” was made. But how exactly do we pick, or let alone even begin to decide, which areas to focus on in the long weekend we were taking in an area with over 800 wineries? Thanks to credit card points, hotel rewards perks, and membership to Total Wine, here is how we were able to plan our long weekend in the Napa/Sonoma/Healdsburg area. My…
