Island. And honestly? After experiencing it for ourselves, we completely understand why.
Atlantis is not just a hotel. It’s practically a destination all on its own. Between the massive
waterpark, marine habitats, beautiful beaches, incredible dining, family activities, and even a
casino, it’s one of those places where you can stay busy from morning until night without ever
feeling bored.

We originally visited Atlantis during a Bahamas cruise stop, but after seeing everything it had to
offer, it quickly became obvious that this is the kind of place worth planning an entire vacation
around.

The Waterpark Is Truly Next-Level

If your family loves waterparks, Atlantis absolutely delivers.

Aquaventure, Atlantis’ famous waterpark, is massive and honestly hard to fully experience in
just one day. It features:
● Thrill slides
● Lazy rivers
● Splash zones for younger kids
● Wave pools
● Water coasters
● Private beaches
● Multiple pools throughout the resort

One of the things we loved most was that it works for all ages. Families with younger children
can enjoy calmer areas while older kids and adults can tackle the bigger thrill attractions.

And yes… the iconic Mayan Temple slides are just as intense as they look. Consider yourself
warned.

Beyond the Waterpark: The Marine Life & Aquarium

One thing many people don’t realize about Atlantis is how much there is to explore outside of
the pools and slides.

The resort is filled with aquariums, lagoons, tunnels, and marine exhibits featuring sharks,
stingrays, tropical fish, and more. Walking through the property honestly feels a little like visiting
a marine park mixed with a luxury resort.

Even just wandering through the grounds became part of the experience for us. There’s
constantly something beautiful to stop and look at.

It’s one of those resorts where you’ll want to leave yourself time to explore instead of over-
planning every second.

Dining at Atlantis

Atlantis has a huge variety of dining options ranging from quick-service spots to upscale
restaurants.

One of our favorite experiences was visiting Carmine’s, a family-style Italian restaurant located
right at the resort. The portions are large, the atmosphere is lively, and it’s a great option for
families or groups traveling together.

One thing we appreciated overall was the variety. Whether you want casual poolside food, grab-
and-go snacks, or a nicer dinner experience, there are plenty of options throughout the resort.

The Casino Experience

For adults traveling to Atlantis, the casino adds another fun layer to the experience.

The Atlantis Casino is one of the largest casinos in the Caribbean and has a really energetic
atmosphere in the evenings. Whether you enjoy table games, slots, or simply walking through
and taking in the vibe, it definitely gives the resort a little something for everyone.

And for families traveling together, it’s nice because the adults can enjoy some evening
entertainment while the resort still remains incredibly family-focused overall.

Is Atlantis Worth Booking for a Full Vacation?

In our opinion… absolutely.

After visiting, it became very clear that Atlantis is much more than a quick stop destination.

There’s honestly enough to do here to fill several days without repeating activities.
It works especially well for:

● Families with kids of multiple ages
● Multigenerational trips
● Couples wanting both relaxation and nightlife
● Travelers who love resorts with built-in entertainment
● Anyone wanting an easy Caribbean vacation with plenty to do onsite

A Helpful Tip for Cruisers

If a full Atlantis stay is not in the plans right now, there’s still a great way to experience it.

Many Bahamas cruises offer Atlantis day access or Atlantis excursions while docked in Nassau,
which gives you the opportunity to enjoy the waterpark, explore the resort, or even visit the
casino during your cruise vacation.

This can be an especially fun option for travelers sailing family-friendly cruise lines that may not
offer casinos onboard. Atlantis allows you to enjoy that resort and casino atmosphere for the
day while still enjoying your cruise experience overall.
